Over the last year or so, a lot of effort has gone into improving and cleaning up the wiring in the helix below Romford. Just another of those projects that consumes tons of time and effort, with little to show for it at the end (other than neater looking wiring runs) but pays off in operational reliability.
Also note the plastic sheets velcroed on the inside of the helix, to help keep dust debris out and derailed cars from falling to the floor. The clear plastic allows for adding the safety barrier but also leaving visibility on the inside of the helix. We’ll be adding this sort of thing to our other helices in the future as well.
