It’s the spring of 1998 and this is the Nairn-Copper Cliff aisle as the bench work is first being built. Because the layout is a mushroom design, a regular wall had to be built on the left to support the deck which is above the ceiling here. The area on the right will be the west end of Sudbury and Copper Cliff. The framed wall on the left at about shoulder level will be Nairn. One level below Nairn will be the Pineland mill on the near end and Crean Hill Mine on the far end. Two levels down will be an extension of Copper Cliff. Closest to the camera on the left is the Pineland Helix which lifts the mainline from Nairn to McKerrow, Ontario, and just visible at the far end of the aisle is the Naughton Helix which lifts the main line from Copper Cliff to Nairn.
