In the 1970s CP still had some examples of older wood-sheathed boxcars on the roster, though most were Reserved Service Equipment (RSE, CP’s term for M.O.W.). This model was bashed by Marty Cybulski from a pre-painted Accurail kit, a close match for CP’s 1923 USRA style 231000 series cars. Marty removed all the cast-on ladders and grab irons and replaced them with finer free-standing detail parts. He also thinned down the wooden roofwalk and distressed it. A wooden ladder was added alongside the door (a common practice) using scale lumber. Some additional details and a new AB brake set complete the model. The paint was touched up with PolyScale PRR Tuscan. Ted Kocyla then weathered the model and patched on new dimensional data and road number. 400000 was CP’s number series for non-revenue equipment.
