In 1973, INCO installed a rotary car dumper at their Clarabelle mill, and the bottom unloading doors on ore cars were no longer used. Between 1973 and 1979, Canadian Pacific rebuilt 200 older cars with original build dates between 1926 and 1942 to remove the bottom doors and replace them with solid floors. These cars were renumbered into the 375800-375999 series and prominently stencilled as “Solid Bottom Ore Cars.”
This model is part of a small fleet of 3D printed cars, designed and produced by WRMRC member Chris vanderHeide.
