Prototype:
CP 8600 represents a freight-only version RS-10 (opposed to dual passenger/freight service) as identified by its smaller (in appearance) fuel tank and lack of steam heating equipment in the short hood. Though the road number may indicate a class-unit, CP 8600 was actually the last unit of order DRS-16g (CP 8582 to 8600) and was in fact the final RS-10 to be delivered new to Canadian Pacific.
Model:
This model of CP 8600 is one of the club’s large fleet of heavily modified Atlas/Kato-drive RS-11 locomotives, kit-bashed and detailed into Canadian MLW-built RS-10 and RS-18 diesels.
