Despite the “CPI” reporting marks which would normally indicate a car restricted to cross-border international service, these flatcars were used in dedicated service on the “Pulp Train”, a unit train of logs from Ramsey, 70 miles west of Cartier, to the E.B. Eddy mill at Nairn.
Except for the addition of the side stakes, these cars are identical to CP’s standard 66′ flatcars in the 317000-317199 series, which also originally bore CPI reporting marks.
