Levack is the site of a long passing siding and junction with the INCO Levack Mine spur which until the 1990s was still operated with INCO electric engines. Levack was also the junction with Falconbridge’s Hardy Mine spur, serving Hardy Mine and Strathcona ore processing mill which shipped concentrated nickel slurry to the smelter at Falconbridge. The Hardy mine spur was abandoned after Falconbridge switched to using trucks to ship the slurry. INCO’s Levack mine continues in operation to this day, but is now served directly by CP engines and crews.
