Clarabelle – 2009

Clarabelle – 2009

Installing the shelving for the interchange with INCo. at Clarabelle and laying out the positions of the trackage in this location, including how the trackage will disappear into the staging yard for the live interchange. The main track of the Nickel subdivision passes left to right on the visible shelving (marked by the piece of spline held in place by temporary screws). At centre, INCo.’s trackage crosses the CPR at a diamond, and connecting track runs from the small CP yard into the INCo. interchange yard, which will be a 10-track hidden staging yard.

Clarabelle may be a tiny station, but it handles a very large amount of traffic as the bulk of INCo’s traffic is interchanged here, including unit ore trains from Creighton and Crean Hill, quartz from Lawson Quarry, sand trains from Garson (CN), unit train volumes of sulphuric acid, and bunker oil trains off CN.
